On his eighth attempt , ancient knuckleballer Tim Wakefield (notes) got his 200th career victory — though it took 18 runs of support by Boston's offense to ensure that it finally happened .</p
200 career wins, but the path he took to get there is as odd as they come.
Happy to have finally picked up his 200th win. He's even happier to have done it in front of the home crowd at Fenway.

Going for 200 wins and was stuck in neutral. Seven times he tried. Seven times he failed. No pitcher ever required more starts to win 200. The Wake-200 Tour touched down in Seattle, Minnesota, Chicago, and Kansas City.
