Why do gorillas and orangutan look more like humans than chimps or bonobos?
Question by grayure: Why do gorillas and orangutan look more like humans than chimps or bonobos?
I understand that the consensus opinion is that Pongo and Gorilla are more distantly related to Homo than Pan is. However, when i see orangutan and gorillas they look more human to me than chimps do. Why is this? Is it because they're closer to us in size?

Answer by EricWe're all primates so we have similar traits. Why you think they look closer to humans than our more closely related Chimp cousins is simply a matter of perspective.
