Severe Weather Chicago Suburbs SKYWARN funnel cloud wall cloud tornado 06-21-2011
This was a rather large super cell that went thru the Chicagoland area. It spawned multiple funnels showed some really large wall clouds. There were winds recorded at 70+ MPH. Telephone poles were snapped in half, other poles tilted to a 45 degree angle. Massive power outages 250k+ people. No actual tornados were confirmed as touched down, but it was really really bad. I had one funnel close up without rotation and then a large wall cloud in the distance. In the background you can hear the DuPage county amateur radio service running a SKYWARN network of certified spotters and radio operators in the field.
